Vietnam joined 4/1000 international initiative during the 100th Anniversary of Nomafsi (1918-2018), 21st June 2018: Phu Tho, Vietnam
On 21st June 2018, in Phu Tho province, Nomafsi successfully organized the 100th anniversary of its establishment. The French Ambassador - H.E. Lortholary Bertrand and the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development – H.E. Nguyen Xuan Cuong, as well as the Vice Minister of MARD – Dr. Le Quoc Doanh, AFD Director, Mr. Fabrice Richy and Cirad Regional Director, Dr. Philippe Girard attended the event.
Hundreds participations attended the anniversary and witnessed French Ambassador - H.E. Lortholary Bertrand awarded 3 Vietnamese Scientist “Chevalier dans l’Ordre du Mérite Agricole” for their outstanding contribution to Vietnam agricultural development and diplomatic ties between Vietnam – France in agricultural field. They are Dr. Pham Thi Sen (Nomafsi), Dr. Trinh Khac Quang (Former President of Vaas) and Prof. Dao The Anh (Vice president of Vaas).
On this occasion, Dr Le Quoc Doanh signed on behalf of the Vietnamese government the agreement to join the international “4 per 1000” initiative. Vietnam became the 1st country in Continental South East Asia joining the initiative, illustrating the government commitment to preserve Vietnamese soils and environment.
